History of Tracyton UMC, located in Tracyton, WA

Tracyton UMC has been serving the community of Tracyton and Kitsap County since 1889. The first church services were held in a schoolhouse that was donated by the Mill Company.  Eventually, the schoolhouse could not contain the members. Construction on the current church building began in 1908 on property donated by early settler, J.P. Riddell.

Tracyton, WA is boarder by the Dyes Inlet and encompasses 2.8 square miles of Kitsap County. It was named after former Secretary of the Navy, Benjamin F. Tracy. This is an interesting fact, as Tracy never served nor lived in the region.
